Sometimes the beginning of creating and marketing your business can feel like one of those nightmares where you’re running but you’re not going anywhere! Let’s focus in on some ways to take control and move things steadily forward. Before you know it, you’ll be flying!
The first step is to create 1-2 main goals.
Depending where you’re at in your business, these could be things like “create new website”, “establish social media presence”, “build email list” or “get more calls with potential clients”. Be ruthless in cutting down the number to just 1 or 2 core things.
Back up each of these large goals with 2-3 money-making actions.
Again, make sure the number isn’t any more than 3. When it comes down to it, creating content, visibility and prospects for your business isn’t too complex. If your list contains more items, put them on a lower-priority side list so you don’t forget them. But these won’t be your daily focus in building momentum.
The main money-making actions could be things like posting on Facebook, doing free trainings and writing on your blog. Ask your intuition/the universe what the best strategies are to make your desires happen. Check out how other people with businesses you admire are showing up on the daily to grow their brand. Rather than consuming their content, analyze it and find a way to emulate their model.
You should already feel better having all that stuff written down and out of your head! Now that we know the priorities, commit to executing on your money-making actions every single day.
Step 3 is to create a daily schedule of how you’re going to continually execute on those top priorities.
As un-sexy as it sounds, daily consistency is a MUST when you are building initial momentum in your business. Not only does it ensure that you remain visible to your audience, it also builds trust in your own resolve!
When I was working in my corporate job and hustling to build my biz on the side, I struggled with taking action daily. I wasn’t clear on what the important actions were, and I spun my wheels a lot, letting days or weeks go by where I’d hardly have anything to show for myself. Yet my desire to be free and expansive was so strong and so painful!
That’s why it’s vital to create a structure where you take action EVERY DAY. Even if it’s just 15 or 30 minutes of something. Write 2 Facebook posts. Create a quick video. Put together 3 images for your blog. Whatever it is, schedule it into your day and DO IT, NO MATTER WHAT. Build that palace brick by brick, baby! Before you know it you’ll look up and a month will have gone by, and you’ll have 30 small pebbles of progress! Woohoo!
Now this next point is SO VITAL.
Once you have your money-making actions figured out, and you’ve scheduled them in, DO NOT allow yourself to regress into shiny object syndrome and overwhelm!! I know, you wish things could move faster and you want to go seeking for some “EAT ME” cookie or unicorn tears that you can spend another few hundred $ on and your business will appear fully formed.
Do not do that. Keep your head down and execute your small daily money-making tasks with faith and consistency. Soon you’ll see results start to bubble up and building to a boil! Cultivate faith and general badassery with books like The Science of Getting Rich, Think and Grow Rich, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind and The 7 Laws of Spiritual Success.
Finally, we have the piece de resistance that made all the difference for me.
Get 1:1 support. Find a wonderful person who you admire and resonate with and invest in coaching, so that you have someone to guide you through this process, to give an honest experienced opinion on your ideas, and speed you along through the rough patches!
Before I hired my coach, I was in “DIY” mode driving myself crazy, second-guessing everything and wasting sooo much time! I thought I should be able to do everything myself, and had a lot of fear and guilt around spending money on help.
Trust me, if you’re serious about making this happen without months or years of suffering and trial and error, get support from someone you respect and adore sooner rather than later. All the money you can spend on random DIY products, programs and courses is much better spent on a coach, and could save you a couple of years in the process! I’m telling you this so that YOU can make it happen for yourself as FAST as possible!!
